Kerry Shawell has 46 years experience as a commercial real estate broker. After graduating from the University of Texas School of Business with Real Estate major, Mr. Shawell joined Coldwell Banker’s Houston office start-up team from California. Subsequently, Kerry affiliated with the Horne Company and was their top producer for several years.
Mr. Shawell has sold several hundred million in real estate, including vacant land, single family and manufactured housing subdivisions, retail centers, and large ranches. Kerry began his career in office leasing and still represents tenants. He currently works with a few clients on a select basis.
In the early 1980’s, Mr. Shawell sold the Federal Land Bank site, which retains the record for Houston as the highest price per square foot ($750) sale in the city’s history.
Mr. Shawell is active in community affairs. He has volunteered for the past 18 years as a second grade tutor through Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church HUGS (Help Us Grow Strong) program at Housman Elementary School in the Spring Branch School District. In addition, Mr. Shawell has participated in border mission work and the local Open Door Mission. He has mentored boys in the Big Brothers organization. Mr. Shawell has also served as Chairman of the Greater Houston Prayer Breakfast for two years.
